A cactus stands in a hot desert while a polar bear walks on ice. The same planet, but very different worlds. We call these big natural worlds “biomes”.

A biome is a large natural area with its own climate, plants and animals. The hot, dry desert has cacti and camels. The warm, wet rainforest is packed with trees and colourful animals. Grasslands and savannas have grazing animals. The icy tundra is cold with moss and caribou.
